21 months later..

21 months later..

So this blog, like my good intentions, just fell but the wayside. It came to my mind over the weekend so in todays edition of ‘Procrastination with Lou’ I thought I might look it up - maybe update it, maybe put it to some good use (If I can).

So where are we now?

Nearly two years into this fucking pandemic, our country is a binfire of posh twats in charge and the disaster of Brexit. A polarised country of the have’s and have-nots, the vaxxed the not vaxxed and the anti-vaxxers; oh and apparently we all have to pick a side!

ANYWAY! My kids are back in school - we found an amazing, independent school locally called Westward House and they go there 4 days a week. They LOVE it, the teachers are literal angels sent from heaven and my kids are enjoying their education. Winning! And not only that - I am no longer responsible for their education - because frankly it was pretty fucking terrifying.

I now work for the Welsh Ambulance Service - I started back in June 2020 and frankly it’s the best job I’ve ever had. You won’t find a more kind, generous, genuine, lovely, wickedly funny group of people. We also have the vocabulary of sweary sailors (only with each other, though!). I have seen things I never thought I would see, been in ridiculous situations I never thought I would be in. I have laughed, cried and been in awe of my colleagues, my patients and peers. Grateful, doesn’t even cut it.

Do I still get anxious?? YES. Am I still drinking wine? FUCK YES Do I still have days where I can’t be arsed? Absofuckinlutely! Did I come out of the lock down with a new skill/language/fitter??? NO! I refined my tastes in wine and got fatter.

So - I am on a bit of a mission at the moment - just to get back to feeling better - choosing happy. I’m going to share some of it on here in the form of recipes and links etc… There is a huge industry out there based on fitness and health and it kind of pisses me off that most of it is behind a paywall. And I’ve tried it all - juicing, fasting, low carb, no carb, Herbalife…. it’s exhausting. And expensive. So if you fancy coming along for the ride, I’ll start popping up some recipes and uploading some yoga. Real food. Real exercise. Stuff that makes you feel good, from the inside out….
